Divine Self: “Today I want to draw an analogy. Think of your clothes closet as being related to your life.

“How full is your closet? How many things do you keep in there that no longer serve who you are today, and who you might become if only you could?

“Do you keep holding on to clothes that no longer fit you? Do you have shoes that are so worn they no longer present as wearable? What about the sweater Aunt Tilly gave you for Christmas that you never liked? And what about all the ‘stuff’ in the back of the closet that hasn’t seen the light of day for . . . how many years?

“Do the items you hold on to keep you from becoming the Ambassador for Christ you would like to be? If only you had the time. If only you had the space. If only you saw yourself as noble enough, or good enough, or -- you fill in the blank – enough!

“Why do we continue to hold on to what no longer serves us? Is it from fear? Fear of becoming? Becoming what? Or realizing what?

“There’s a part inside of all of us that yearns to be greater than we are right now, this moment. What keeps us from becoming that greater self? Is it not at least in part due to all the clutter we fill our lives with; the busyness we fill our hours and our days with?

“What would happen if we dared to let go of some of our ‘stuff’? Would new energy come in to fill the void? Would we suddenly find ourselves ‘free to be Me’?

“Let us make a commitment to our greater selves today; to begin to clean out our closets, to look for all the clutter, and let it go, give it away, even put it in the trash if that is where it really belongs, do whatever we have to do to clean up our closet, to open up the energy in our house, and to lighten our emotional load.

And now breathe . . . enjoy the freedom of having the time . . . of having the space . . . to realize the deepest yearnings of your heart . . . in God’s Love.”
