Michael: “Beloveds, there are many little habits left over from your childhood, but we will concentrate
for now on just the simple fact that negative thinking is a waste of time.
“The days go quickly by, and you often spend them in thinking about situations about which all your thoughts
can do little to change. Can you change the past? Of course not! Yet think how much time you spend just going over
again in your minds some action of yesterday, or of last week, or last year.
“You cannot change the past, and you often waste a precious new day by reliving what you cannot change. Why
do you do this, My Brothers and Sisters?
“Ah, the answer is so simple. It’s a habit. And habits are something that you can do something about,
for you can begin to put away the thoughts about the irreparable past and begin to use today to its best advantage.
Stay in the moment.
“I have told you not to worry about the future, and I want you to understand fully that you must also put the
past away. Lay it aside as you would a garment that has long outworn its usefulness.
“Forget the past. You cannot change it. However, you can do something constructive with today. Now, in the
present, do your best to fulfill Our Father love commandment. Love one another today.
“It is time to work on staying in the present. And I tell you this truth. For a great majority of Our Father’s
children, learning to live in the present is indeed, a labor, a work that will require much concentration.”
