Athena: "I greet you, my dear human student, friend and
brother. Today it falls to (Midwayer) Sharmon to gladly do the honors
of translating my words. I am Athena, a Celestial Artisan and former
human, honored to have been given the required curriculum by your Prince
(Machiventa) to help advance the group, which specializes in bringing
newcomers to 'the starting gates of spirituality' from which they will
run their personal race to eternal perfection.
"In this lesson we speak about meditation. There always is 'something'
happening in meditation. There always is progress. And there always
is repairs, and or correction, going on. However, neither you nor I
can say at what point in progress anyone has arrived. God knows, the
Life Carriers can come pretty close, and the likes of Dr. Mendoza would
have a fairly good idea -- always still learning - yes, he is one of
the greatest psychic surgeons this planet will ever see in cases where
either repairs, or correction, is required.
"Of course, your Angels and Destiny Guardians are intimately apprized
of your progress. Their task, however is not to communicate with you,
but to safeguard you, and only in cases of dire emergency, contact you.
Only in retrospect, and usually after a prolonged period of time, will
you begin to have an inkling of your soul-progress. There is yet a series
of factors to take into consideration when a mortal student tries to
strike a comparison between self and others who are seemingly making
more progress.
"The question that will only sometimes be answered is, 'Where are
you coming from?' There is no typical Urantia mortal. You are all different,
unlike the citizens of most other worlds. Even in a single family, the
variations can be huge, for as you well know, talents vary so much.
Even at this stage, psychological profiling must be considered to be
primitive when it tries to determine suitability for meditation and
latent or potential capacity for hearing and seeing your Celestial Teachers
. . . also always still dependent on their having been given permission
to be heard or seen.
"Always still, it is the Thought Adjuster who looks ahead of time
to determine the all-important intent to contribute, your diligence,
your persistence. And yet meditation is never a waste of time, for meditation
creates a closer alignment with the Spark of God. It is prayer, in fact.
"Consider how many times you were told that the 'subject' finally
enjoys better sleep patterns, finds it easier to deal with family, solves
difficult problems with greater ease, has become a better negotiator
or arbitrator. Consider. Meditation firstly 'goes where it does most
good,' there is no waste of time, and there is always something positive
happening - there is soul-growth. Have trust.
"This is Athena who considers her many years of painting and sculpture,
pottery and wood carving in co-creation with the Creator of all, to
have been an important part of her personal soul-growth, even now not
quite knowing to what degree it produced this soul-growth. My love goes
out to you all."
