A Lesson on Purity.

A Thought Adjuster Speaks - Lesson # 68
October 10, 2004.

We shall endeavor a little foray into purity. One of the beatitudes speaks of those with a pure heart, who shall see God. This is a stated fact, as no one will be able to see God, unless they have a pure heart. So take heart, for this is what you will be practicing on the long road to perfection. A pure heart is also a clean heart, free from any negativity, greed, want or hidden agendas, which are known on High, since nothing is hidden from the Creator. He knows the innermost thoughts of His creation and therefore of all the creatures, which have been, are now, and will be born on the planets of space. Humanity is in dire need of thinking more cosmically, some don’t even think globally, as they are only thinking of how to line their pockets to the detriment of the majority of God’s children.

All have to learn their lessons in acquiring a pure heart, and no one is exempted. The sooner a beginning is made by living more consciously in present-centered awareness, the sooner one can realize which sort of thoughts preoccupy the mind. It is a sign of growth in understanding and wisdom when the recognition dawns that unhealthy thought creates an unhealthy mind, and an unhealthy body. Therefore, the sooner one engages in positive thinking, the sooner at least half the battle will be won to become healthy. They are negative thoughts which are the mental poison on the planet. Thoughts of unforgiveness and ill-will, as well as thoughts of anger and of getting even, are very destructive to peace of mind. Sooner or later they bring their own array of sorrow to the bearer, as all these thoughts do affect the owner according to the law of cause and effect.

The question arises: How does one become pure of heart? Actually, it is by living the golden rule: Do unto others, as you, yourself would like to be treated. This is the best start possible, and is to be found in all religions, perhaps worded a little differently, but the meaning is the same. Every person likes to be loved and respected. Even the tiniest child thrives on this, for this is how it grows. Children who do not get the love, respect and attention they need, fail to thrive, and can wither and die due to this lack of nurture. An underdevelopment can occur in some areas in the nervous system, as the feelings of such a little one do not get adequately developed, preventable blockages are likely to occur, and so the mortal has to labor and grow under some sort of a handicap, which can only be overcome when proper recognition is given. Meditation in the Stillness of the heart often causes this recognition to well up. And when this occurs, the soul is nurtured, growth occurs, the heart starts to recognize this, and is then on the way to become more whole and pure.

Self-discipline and self-mastery are always a desirable estate, as well as living more consciously open to the needs of others, and willing to lend a helping hand, whatever endeavor one is engaged in. The ultimate question asked of you, once you ‘pass over,’ is not what you have done in your life, but how many people have you helped. This is the truth that needs to sink into the hearts of humankind. By this I mean altruistic service, with love and caring. Share your heart with each other, be genuine and live positively. These are the hallmarks of growth in a spiritual being and are the training-ground to the acquisition of a pure heart.
